Huntsman-Pürsan Chemicals trade named chemical company is the main
sponsor of Marmara Underwater Displaying Festival.
Company officials stated that the Marmara Sea needs an urgent protection
and continued to their statements as follows;
“We, as being Huntsman-Pürsan Chemicals company, we are very proud and
happy to become the Main Sponsor for Marmara Festival which exactly
coincides with our environment vision and sustainability mission.
Marmara Sea which is obliged to carry the burden of millions of people,
high-density population as well as the burden of thousands of industrial
facilities needs an urgent protection as being the only sea and nature
wonder surrounded by one single country throughout the world.
Over 300 textile and paint improvement facilities generate daily average
of 250.000 m3 waste water in a day and leave them to Marmara Sea as in
treated/untreated wastes. We as Huntsman Pürsan Chemicals Company had
accomplished to decrease up to 50 percent of the water utilization by
our Avitera SE series products of which were awarded as The Best Product
for Environment and Sustainability for year 2014 given by the
International ICIS Awards. And we strive and aim for decreasing the half
of the said waste water quantity left to Marmara Sea. Textile sector is
one of the locomotive sectors of Turkey and by decreasing the water,
energy and chemical product utilization costs of this sector, we are
aiming to increase the competition power of this sector while, on the
other hand to decrease the waste quantity. With this aim in our minds,
we are trying to contribute into a sustainable future as well by
hard-working with our facility which is a candidate for Leed Gold
Certificate and using environment risk-free products and generating its
electricity power from the solar systems established in our facility.”
USA industry giant Huntsman and Istanbul based Pürsan Pigment Products
Industry trade named company had established a partnership and decided
to continue their textile operations in Turkey under the trade name of
“Huntsman-Pürsan Chemicals Company”.
MARMARA Underwater Displaying Festival
International Marmara Underwater Displaying Festival will be realized
this year during the dates of September 04-13, 2015 as being 22nd
organization in national level and 15th organization in
international scale under the leadership of Turkish Aquanauts Club.
Festival was commenced as a national underwater displaying contest under
the name of “Marmara Sea Living Despite Everything“ and the Festival was
brought to international platform since the year 2000 under the name of
“International Marmara Underwater Displaying Festival” and it has been
followed-up by many underwater and photograph lovers throughout the
world.
This Festival has been organizing each year for the purposes such as in
order to draw attention to the pollution in Marmara Sea, to call the
public opinion to become more sensitive on this matter and to support
the publicity of our country which is rich not only with its aboveground
but also with its underwater resources and the Festival is composed of
many other activities and two significant contests.
Festival will last for 10 days and many exhibitions, shows,
documentaries and fictional film exhibitions will be organized within
the scope of this Festival in relation to the mysterious and colorful
world of underwater along with many other contests, panels, interviews,
seminars, workshop studies, book signing activities, memorial nights for
masters of this arts and scientific, artistic and sportive activities
will also be organized. |
